THANKFUL ALL WEEK LONG SERIES:
MY PERSONAL REFLECTIONS
(DR. JOHN E. GUNS, Jacksonville, FL)
Monday, December 1, 2008

This morning I woke up in clearly a new and exciting season.  On last night Saint Paul returned to national and international television by broadcasting for the first time on the NRB Network, channel 378, DirecTV system. As I watched all I could think of was, “Wow, I serve a God of second chances”. With tears in my eyes I watched God do it again.

I know for some in ministry this seems small but for me it is huge.  My journey has been a very challenging one when it comes to national television.  I know that I have been called to the nations (a word my son, Pastor John Perry uses) and no matter what setbacks I have experienced I have never aborted my dream or calling.

I want to encourage you today to embrace fully this fact.  Never allow your setbacks to so discourage you that you give up on what you know is God’s will.  Exemplify healthy tenacity and fight "to" your dream.  Walking in God’s will is an awesome journey that requires you to stretch.  This stretching is what we call faith.  So in this season of your life, embrace the stretching and watch God stretch the resources and relationships to produce your dream and your destiny.  Have an awesome week!

THANKFUL ALL WEEK LONG SERIES:
HOW TO BE THANKFUL IN A FAMINE SEASON
(Yvonne Whitfield, Jacksonville, FL)
Tuesday, December 2, 2008

Many of you (including myself) may ask how can I be thankful in a Famine Season? Well, I'm glad you asked.

As I read and meditated on Psalm 33 it encourage me and gave me strength to know that no matter what you and I face in this world, God will give you hope, deliverance and strength in this season of Economic woes and disappointment.

Here are some ways you and I can be Thankful in a Famine Season:

  • Continue to sing joyfully to the Lord and Praise His Holy name
  • God will never go back on his Word, because his word is right and true, and God is faithful in whatever we may endure on this Christian journey.
  • By the word of God were the heavens and the earth made, therefore he knows what we're in before it even happens, because from heaven the Lord looks down and sees all mankind and from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth.
  • And according to Ps. 33:18-19,  God sums it all up by saying "But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine".

Here's my encouragement to everyone, God is going to provide, we just need to Trust Him more. Be Blessed
